Neutron Diffractometer for Residual Stress Analysis
The instrument was previously operated at HZB as E3. It is a specialized neutron diffraction instrument designed for non-destructive investigations of residual stresses, strains, and the internal structure of engineering materials.
Thanks to the high penetration depth of neutrons, it enables the analysis of the interior of real industrial components without the need for sectioning or destructive preparation.
The instrument supports the development of advanced manufacturing technologies and quality control of components used in the aerospace, energy, railway, automotive, and nuclear industries.
