Helium (gaseous and liquid)
Helium is used in cryogenic systems and experimental equipment. Supplied both in gaseous form (via a dedicated distribution system) and in liquid form (delivered in transport dewars), it enables experiments at very low temperatures and supports cryogenic cooling systems.
Helium Recovery
MNL operates a helium recovery station connected to the experimental hall. The system captures helium used during research activities, separates and stores it as purified compressed helium, and reintroduces it into the research supply network. This reduces the consumption of fresh helium, lowers operating costs, and promotes the sustainable use of this valuable non-renewable resource.
The helium recovery system reflects MNL’s commitment to efficient resource management and environmentally responsible scientific research.
Nitrogen (gaseous and liquid)
Nitrogen is used as a cooling medium and technical gas supporting cryogenic and laboratory processes. It provides stable operating conditions and contributes to the safe operation of experimental systems.
Water Cooling System
The water cooling circuit is used to remove heat from research equipment and experimental systems, ensuring that their temperature remains within the required operating range.
Compressed Air
The compressed air system supplies auxiliary equipment, automation systems, and control infrastructure used throughout the research facility.
Safety and Monitoring Systems
The infrastructure includes monitoring and technical safety systems that ensure the safe operation of equipment, continuous supervision of operating parameters, and protection of both personnel and scientific instruments.
Radiological protection systems include radiation monitoring equipment, a contamination monitoring portal, and portable neutron and gamma radiation detectors used during operational activities and experimental work.
